Submit your film for FEST 2021

The current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic has forced FEST to reevaluate the dates of the festival. The priority remains ensuring the best possible conditions, safety and health-wise.

As such, we would like to announce that FEST’s 17th edition will take place between the 4th and the 11th of October 2021.

One of FEST’s distinct qualities is the in person, intimate intersection between industry professionals, cinephiles and up-and-coming filmmakers. We hope that with this postponement we’ll be able to provide the best and safest in loco experience — we’re working tirelessly to ensure that both our film program and industry sections can be held in our beautiful hometown of Espinho, bringing back the hundreds of film professionals and our enthusiastic audience together.

We will also have hybrid section of the event available during the week of the festival, where we will try to replicate the always unique and special experience and opportunities provided by the festival in it’s hometown of Espinho.
These new circumstances also result in the extension of the film submission period. The new deadline is the 11th of June 2021 at 23h59 GMT.
As such, we are still looking for:
1.    A) Fiction and Non-Fiction Feature Films (minimum length is 55 minutes) from directors who are on their first or second feature-length project, regardless of age.
2.    B) Fiction, Documentary, Animation and Experimental Short Films (up to 54 minutes of duration) from directors up to the age of 35 (including) at the last day of production.
