VR Days Europe: Immersive Tech Week
Join us for the 7th edition of VRDays Europe on November 13-17, in Amsterdam, in the Laval Virtual World and all around the world. Connect and get educated during Immersive Tech Week! Five days of inspiration, discussions, co-creation, experiences, conferences, panels and networking.
VRDays Europe invites international high-class experts to talk about immersive technologies in business, science and art. During Immersive Tech Week, speakers are invited to take part in conferences, talks, roundtables and panels in the Laval Virtual World or at one of the physical satellite events in Amsterdam and around the world.
Day 1 | November 13 | WORK, LIFE AND ETHICS
Physical and virtual worlds are more linked than ever before. Slowly but steadily, immersive technologies are becoming part of everyday life. This raises ethical questions, while a large quantity of data is used and shared everyday. What does privacy mean when your surroundings are scanned and biometric surveillance is needed for the tech to work properly? How do immersive technologies help us to create a safer, more diverse and prosperous life?
Day 2 | November 14 | EDUCATION, SAFETY AND DIVERSITY
Immersive learning has started to conquer the world. The engagement it brings can help us to learn faster, develop a greener mindset and even become more diverse as a society. But how does that really work? What is the psychology behind it? And how do we make sure the virtual itself is a safe, free and diverse space?
Day 3 | November 15 |INDUSTRY, MARKETING AND COMMERCE
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated trends in digitisation broadly, and there is a clear path towards XR as the next computing platform, the 3D internet also referred to as the metaverse. The metaverse is the new playground and a prerequisite for marketers. For companies, it’s now crucial to integrate digital transformation into their global strategy. Governments need to identify ways to support XR technologies that can lead to responsible adoption, desired policy results and solid job growth.
Day 4 | November 16 |SCIENCE, RESEARCH AND HEALTHCARE
Following the WHO World Mental Health Day, ITW will focus on how immersive technologies can help to beat the port-pandemic mental health crisis. How MedTech startup ecosystems like in Heidelberg embrace XR and how immersive technologies, such as those applied by the Amsterdam Skill Center, can be used to fight the projected shortfall of 18 million health workers by 2030 (WHO) and find out the latest insights on the magic combination of psychedelica and VR.
Day 5 | November 17 |ARTS
Immersive technologies are everywhere in the arts. In museums, cinema, gaming, dance, theater. Artists are pushing storytelling forward by finding and creating new ways to tell their stories. This year we are diving into dance, into social VR as a way to unlock the potential of cultural heritage, new business models for creators and storytelling. Because telling stories is what defines us, what helps us understand each other, what makes us human.
